THE GENERAL yesterday on our way to church my wife and i saw what looked like a police car on the back of a tow truck ahead of us on 476...as we got closer to it, we both noticed that it looked more like the sort of police car one might find on The Dukes of Hazard, a favorite television show from my childhood. i accelerated to get a better view, and sure enough, on the side of the cruiser was the emblem "Hazard County Sherriff." this would have been more than enough excitement for one sunday afternoon, but then as we passed by we were amazed to see the General Lee! i quickly handed my phone over to bridget who was able to snap the photo below, in what has been aptly described as "the first good excuse for owning a picture phone" some have ever seen. it's worth noting that the car was being driven by two white males of the appropriate age expected for the Duke boys, and that the driver was talking on the C.B. radio as we passed them. feast your eyes...
